Since 2009, the Chiswick Book Festival has brought together top authors and their readers for a week of history, poetry, biography, creative writing, fiction, thrillers, gardens, food, wine, politics and children’s books. In March 2026 it was named by The Glossary magazine as “One of London’s most quietly indispensable literary festivals,” noting that “Since it started the Chiswick Book Festival has quickly established itself as a key event with well-known speakers and highly produced sessions ranging across a huge variety of topics.”
The eighteenth Chiswick Book Festival takes place from 9 to 14 September 2026.
The Festival is a non-profit-making community event, raising money for St Michael & All Angels Church, which hosts the event, and three charities which in 2025 were these.
We’re grateful for the support of authors and publishers, local booksellers (including Waterstones, Bookcase, Fosters and Oxfam Bookshop), our business partners, venues and local media: Chiswick Library, ArtsEd, Chiswick House & Gardens, Chiswick Cinema, Hogarth’s House, George IV, Theatre at the Tabard, Orchard House School, chiswickW4.com, chiswickbuzz.net, Chiswick Herald, and TheChiswickCalendar.co.uk.
