Jane Austen speakers and books v2

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT.
WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY DISAPPOINTMENT.

6pm for 7pm, An Evening with Jane Austen
On the day Jane Austen graces the £10 note for the first time, we hold a special event in the Burlington Pavilion, celebrating 200 years of her life and work in the splendid Neo-Palladian surroundings of Chiswick House & Gardens.

Authors Paula Byrne (The Genius of Jane Austen) and Helena Kelly (Jane Austen, The Secret Radical) are joined by Dr Esmé Whittaker from English Heritage, curator of Chiswick House, who will highlight the links between the author, Chiswick and its sister estate, Chatsworth, widely thought to be the model for Pemberley in Pride & Prejudice.

Imogen Stubbs, who played Lucy Steele in the film Sense & Sensibility, will read extracts from Austen’s works. Chaired by Festival Director Torin Douglas.

Supported by Hubbard, Pegman & Whitney. Bar open and books on sale from 6pm.
