Savage Continent: Fiction and the Fall of Nazi Germany

Join four historical novelists as they talk about the end of the Third Reich and its portrayal in fiction. Ben Fergusson (The Spring of Kasper Meier), William Ryan (The Constant Soldier), Jane Thynne (Faith and Beauty) and Jason Hewitt (Devastation Road), will look at the demise of Germany at the end of World War Two from a variety of narrative angles, ask where the line between fact and fiction lies, and how novels can help us to understand the repercussions of Europe’s darkest hour. Chaired by Festival Director Torin Douglas.
Chiswick Library, Duke’s Avenue, W4 2AB, £3, £1.50 for Library members.
